Crude oil used for petrol

Petroleum refineries convert crude oil and other liquids into many petroleum products that people use every day. Most refineries focus on producing transportation fuels. On average, U.S. refineries produce, from a 42-gallon barrel of crude oil, about 19 to 20 gallons of motor gasoline , 11 to 12 gallons of distillate fuel , most of which is sold as diesel fuel , and 4 gallons of jet fuel. What are petroleum products, and what is petroleum used for? Petroleum products include transportation fuels, fuel oils for heating and electricity generation, asphalt and road oil, and feedstocks for making the chemicals, plastics, and synthetic materials that are in nearly everything we use. In 2018, of the approximately 7.5 billion barrels of total U.S. petroleum consumption, 46% was motor Petroleum, or Motor Gasoline Diesel. Diesel is the second most common product made from crude oil, Jet Fuel. Around 10% of the crude oil in a US barrel goes towards jet fuel and powering aeroplanes. Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) LPG, often referred to as simply propane or butane, It is a mixture of hydrocarbons with various sizes, alkanes along with some alkenes and alkynes. Crude oil is formed by the decomposition of plants and animals buried underground for millions of years due to intense heat and pressure. Crude oil cannot be used directly, different components Crude oil is a naturally occurring, unrefined petroleum product composed of hydrocarbon deposits and other organic materials. A type of fossil fuel, crude oil can be refined to produce usable products such as gasoline, diesel and various forms of petrochemicals. Crude oil is refined down into hundreds of products, two of the most widely used are Gasoline (which is a blend of various crude oil derived hydrocarbons) and Diesel fuel. Other less common uses of crude oil are asphalt for roads, bunker fuel for tanker ships, and it is a prime component of many plastics. Crude oil is ALL used for gasoline, diesel and Jet fuel… well sort of .. Home heating oil and diesel are the same product… Crude oil is refined to produce gasoline, diesel/home heating oil and elements of jet fuel which are composed of diesel and kerosine….
